I am Ann Marie Mangion, a lawyer by profession and owner of the law boutique firm, Mangion Legal where I specialise in cases dealing in family and child law amongst other areas.

After graduating from the University of Malta as a lawyer (LL.B and LL.D), I specialised in family law by graduating from the University of London (UCL and Queen Mary) in Master of Family Law (LL.M in Family Law) followed a year later from the University of Malta in Master of Arts in Matrimonial Canon Law (M.A. Mat. Can. Law).

Apart from dealing on a daily basis with all sorts of cases mainly in Family and Child Law I also am a thesis/term paper examiner at the Faculty of Laws at the University of Malta as well as a casual visiting lecturer at the University of Malta.

I have made several guest appearances on television and radio programmes throughout the years as a guest speaker on legal topics.  From October 2013 till December 2016 I even had my own radio programme on RTK (103 FM) entitled, "Il-Ligi u l-Familja" (The Law and the Family), hence the name of this blog.  After my tenure at RTK came to an end I came up with the idea of creating this blog where I could write short articles on daily legal happenings in Malta and abroad.  This is not the first time that I would be writing articles as I have been a fortnightly contributor on Malta's leading newspaper,'The Times of Malta' from March 2010 till March 2013.

I always wanted to be in a position to determine what I could write and to share my views and opinions on judgements and legislation particularly ones that are related to family law and child law.  After much thought I took the plunge of starting this blog.
